Alerton Inc. announced the availability of controllers and accessories that are UL-864/UUKL approved as smoke control system equipment. In the event of a building fire, a smoke control system works to maintain tenable evacuation routes and contain smoke within the fire area to protect life and property.

  Alerton� WEBtalk 2.0

Alerton Inc. announced the release of its latest version of WEBtalk�, BACnet building automation software that allows online access to system controls and displays the data as Web pages. The new version provides powerful new tools for alarms, schedules, and trend logs, which give facilities engineers unprecedented flexibility to view, add, remove, modify, and track system data-all through their Web browser. At the heart of the WEBtalk system is the WEBtalk IPort�, which is based on server-class hardware and is designed to run indefinitely without scheduled maintenance.

  Alerton� BACtalk Integrator 100 (BTI-100)

The BACtalk Integrator 100 (BTI-100) is Alerton's next-generation BACnet-compliant global controller for smaller installations (up to 65 VLCs). It independently executes global direct DDC algorithms to orchestrate the operation of field controllers on its MS/TP LANs and is IP-capable for interoperability across campuses or continents. The BTI-100 also hosts automated control features—schedules, trendlogs, and alarms—that are set up at a BACtalk operator workstation and can access available data as BACnet objects and properties from throughout the BACnet internetwork. This makes its operational status and control data available to other BACnet devices in the same way, enabling an unmatched level of interoperability with other site systems.

  Alerton� VLX Building Controller

Alerton Inc. has released the VLX, a new BACnet-compliant field controller ideally suited for small building installations, large air handling unit or central plant applications hosting numerous interdependent control points. Peer-to-peer direct digital control (DDC) capability enables data exchange between multiple VLXs and offers global DDC management. Modem support offers dialup connectivity to the VLX for remote management. The VLX can have up to 176 on-board I/O points via the addition of expansion modules and supports up to 10 additional BACnet devices for significant cost and time savings.
